About Thermal Metal Spray Cambridge
Thermal metal spray coating is used on small and intricate fabrications and is often used as a replacement for galvanizing. SPG provide Thermal Metal Spraying services in Cambridge aswell as throughout the United Kingdom. The spray is applied in accordance with ISO 22093. We have worked with the Highways Agency to apply this solution on large bridge structures and lighting columns.
Zinc
Our Zinc thermal metal spray is suitable for protection up to 200°C. We apply this using gas combustion or electric arc process and provides a long life coating of 10 to 25 years. This process is often specified in preference to galvanising for its ease of application without the need for drilling of drain/vent holes and to avoid the risk of distortion.
Aluminium
Aluminium thermal metal spray gives a superior protection than Zinc specifically in sub-sea and saline conditions. The aluminium thermal spray has the added advantage of a protection against temperatures of 400°C when applied with the Electric Arc process.
